Two Defined Benefit Pension Plans to Meet Your Needs
The Board of Trustees of the Fund sponsor two defined benefit pension plans: The Legacy Plan of the National Retirement Fund (the “Legacy Plan”) and The Adjustable Plan of the National Retirement Fund (the “Adjustable Plan”). Depending on your employment history, you may be eligible for a benefit under the Legacy Plan, the Adjustable Plan or both.
Each Plan is funded by contributions from participating employers pursuant to collective bargaining agreements or participation agreements. Pension benefits under both Plans are insured, to certain limits, by the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation. The Plans’ investment income and employer contributions are used to pay the benefits of plan participants and their beneficiaries, as well as for various administrative and professional services necessary to operate the Fund.
The Legacy Plan and the Adjustable Plan offer different types of pension benefits to meet individual needs and circumstances.
